Anyone have one of these shift ***** on their 964? How does the shift boot integration work? I thought the OE **** and boot were one piece. Do I need to cut up my boot to make it work? If so, any alternative boots so that I don't kill my OE parts? Thanks.

And because the function-first shifters are absolutely top notch my latest purchase, this set up will allow me to just swap over the top shifter part between the slotted and classic as and when I want a change.

I first made a rectangular frame using a metal clothes hanger and kept it in shape with 2 zip ties. Then I just pushed it up into the bottom of the gaiter (boot) as far as it would go. It did not need any stitching and stayed in place. I also had the cut the top of the gaiter down a couple of cm before I could attach the shifter collar shaft properly.
