Default Engine Carrier plate split

Hi,
My engine is hanging down on the left hand side and having a closer look it seems the carries plate has split, I'm wondering if anyone has come by this problem before and could advise me if engine has to be lowered to replace it

thanks
Jon

Yes this can happen esp if you have harder engine mounts and/or track your car. You will need to slightly lower and support your engine with a jack underneath to remove the carrier. Many of us have an aftermarket reinforcement plate welded onto the carrier- http://www.rennline.com/Rennline-Eng...oductinfo/M04/

If you haven't replaced your original engine mounts perhaps the old sagging ones caused your problem so it would be smart to replace those as well.

Good luck!

Yes the carrier can be replaced with the motor in the car. Put the car on stands. Put a jack under the motor to support it. Put boards under the heat exchangers to balance. Remove bumper. Remove rear engine tins and the two rear heat shields. The rest will be obvious.

Go to rennline and buy one of their reinforced carriers. Great product and not expensive. It'll never happen again.

I had mine reinforced by the local welding place, they welded on a generic piece of steel to my beam. I then had it powder coated.

Inexpensive and it has held up perfect with my wevo mounts.
