Get 'em Dirty - Seize The Drive
Susie Q is wonderful. The widebody, fat tyres and wider track make for a very stable car and yet she doesn't feel like a large car... probably due to the lighter wheels, LWT flywheel and RS clutch.
Fundamentally she's fully steetable, whilst Betty is very loud and 'uncompromising'. Horses for courses. It still amazes me how one can tune these cars into real weapons with a few choice/ simple chassis and drive train mods...
Wow,
Didn't realize how much you caught the bug. Congrats they are all nice. I am partial to the wide body myself. Looks great and narrow trailing arms with the wide body is by far more stable than either the narrow body or the wide body stock.
So what sized rear tires did you end up with. I am running 295's on 11's but plan to upgrade to 12's next year and was hoping to fit at least a 315.
BTW the long nose is a beauty. I miss my E it was a fun go cart.

Cheers fella,
It's lower than RS. I can't say by how much as I haven't measured. I've set it by eye and by measuring the shock absorbers/ collar height. I'll be going a tad higher on the front though as I had a minute amount of rubbing... albeit in extraordinary circumstances up Alp passes.

classy cars for a classy event - looks like tonnes of fun and thanks for sharing.
Like the short "compare and contrast" between the seminal BB and the newcomer, curvy as she is. (Could be your next movie .. just bump the cayman for this one, same roads or maybe Isle of Man T route next time )
quick question - Are the wheels on each both the same type BBS? How do the front's compare? I ask as in the shots above and especially on the purple car next to BB, the gold centre seems much less inset than on SQ. It even looks like the centre might sit proud of the barrels rim.
So 2 questions please:
1. are BB & Purple running the same fronts with same depth of rim? (assuming your keen sense for detail will know even though one isn't yours)
2. how do SQ's front compare size/depth/offset wise to BB's (the one and only )?
Keep on getting those cars dirty!

Thanks for the kind words. 'Purple Enemy' is is absolutely immaculate and is a special order 1970s Porsche colour. Really cool car, owner is a great fella/ L9O'r too.
It wears the same wheels as SQ - BBS E28s. I believe the dishes are pretty much the same size give or take 1/2 an inch. SQ's fronts are 9J and 12J, the rear offsets iirc are about -15 due to the narrow body trailing arms. In future I will probably go with 11J rears and deeper dishes on the front - now that I've learned the fitment. Betty's fronts are 8J and 10J.
BB's track shoes are BBS GT2s which were made for the 993 GT2.
Having now tracked Susie Q I can honestly say she's worlds apart from Betty which is basically a track car. She's a lot heavier and set up much more softly.

Update!
After what feels like an eternity things are starting to take shape with Ella.
Since she's an original Euro spec RS lightweight this will be just a straight restoration. She spent years on the track, whilst mechanically in good condition, we'll be undertaking a full windows out respray.
The magnesium Cup 1s will be stored on the shelf and a fresh set of matte black 3 piece 18 inch BBSs will bolt on. I may just add some Cultwerks ducts and splitter though...
Stay tuned for updates
