onceovers long overdue introduction (long)
I've been a member on here for almost 4 years now. Like most of you, I wanted a 911 ever since childhood, and had the wall posters to prove it.
I come from the Audi/VW world so the natural progression was to move up to a Porsche at some point

Here's my daily driver A4 that I built over the past few years. Not much hasn't been touched on the car. Some notable things include:
Built 1.8T engine
GT3076R turbo
S4 interior swap
Euro trunk
Coilovers
Ultrasport front bumper
Custom molded rear bumper
Euro bixenon headlights
The list goes on...

I knew I wanted an aircooled, and flip flopped between old longhoods, 993s, 3.2s, and finally decided that a 964 was the way to go.
4 years ago I graduated from university with a Mechanical Engineering degree and decided that I wanted to take a trip to Europe with my Fiancée (then girlfriend) before I started a full time job.
The plan was to buy a 911 in Poland (beginning of my trip, as I have family there) and make my way around Europe with the end goal of shipping it back to Canada. The problem I soon found was that 911's are quite hard to find in Europe in general, let alone Poland; and when you do find one, they're more expensive than similar examples in North America. The search then shifted to find something worth buying and bringing over that is relatively rare in Canada. I originally searched for BMW E30 wagons, but nothing really stood out to me.
Thats when I found this:

A 91 E34 M5. We drove around Europe in it for 2 months, did about 11,000km and 13 countries. The car was dropped off in Dublin and shipped to Canada for me to enjoy.

I owned the M5 for a couple years, and had it listed for sale for quite some time. I was in no hurry to sell it as it was a really fun car to drive and got quite a bit of attention from those who knew what it was. Throughout owning the M5 my heart was still set on a 911, and I would browse the classifieds on a weekly basis. An interested buyer from Saskatchewan contacted me and made the trek over to Calgary to come look at the car. A deal was struck and the M5 sold.
Now the real hunt was on. The day the M5 sold, I started hunting rennlist for a 964 worth buying. 20 minutes into my search I found a local car in Guards Red for a reasonable price. I couldn't believe my luck! I promptly contacted the seller and we set up a time to meet.
This was the first 964 I have looked at. The car looked solid with a couple blemishes here and there, and had a funny idle. All in all, it appeared to be worth what the seller was asking and we agreed on getting a PPI done. The car passed the PPI with a couple small issues (CV boots, oil leaks, etc.). I called the seller and we struck a deal. I was a 964 owner, all within one week of selling the M5!
Photo of the car in the listing:

Soon after picking the car up I removed the horrendous tint from the windows and the subwoofers and amps.
It didn't take long before the mod bug bit. I promptly ordered some stuff:
Prototipo steering wheel
Fabspeed heater bypass pipe
Cat delete pipe

New FPR
Fuel pump check valve
Fuel filter
Brad Penn 20W50 oil
Mann oil filter
O2 sensor
Spark plugs
Time to dig in!

Untitled by Patrick Derkacz, on FlickrI pulled the intake manifolds out to clean them and get to the FPR more easily too. Forgot to take a photo
MY OCD kicked in and I saw that a lot of parts had surface rust on them. Might as well take care of that while I'm at it.
Untitled by Patrick Derkacz, on FlickrI sandblasted everything myself and sent out out for powdercoating. End result:

Untitled by Patrick Derkacz, on FlickrOne issue that also bugged me was the faded and cracked tail lights. I opted to sand them, fill the cracks with epoxy and paint them with red tail light tint. Not perfect, but sure beats spending $1000 on a new set!
Untitled by Patrick Derkacz, on FlickrAlso picked up a bumperette delete, don't have many photos of it as the parts were promptly stolen off the car while parked at a shopping mall

Okay. Thats enough for now. Heres a photo of how she sat at the time. Mod bug was continuing to bite, so more changes have happened since, I'll get to that soon.

Starting off with another project I'm quite proud of. My fiancee and I totally restored her 87 Cabrio and added a 1.8T to the mix. Got it painted Slate Grey too, so it's a Porsche at heart.

Back to the 964!
I picked up some wheels that needed some serious TLC. Techart Speeline Daytonas:

In the meantime, it's apart again!

Aero mirrors
Cult Werk RS bumper
Cult Werk brake ducts
H4 Headlights
RS fog lenses (couldnt decide between ducts or lenses, so why not both!)
All back together from paint, still need to install fog ducts and H4 lights. RS lenses in for now...
