Default 964 Project

Hi Guys,

I want to do 1991 964 targa project. The car I have in mind needs some work and I want to ask for help with few things.

- I looking for good porsche mechanic in LA who did conversion from automatic trany to manual.
- best suspension for 994 (car is supercharged) and I want to have it well balanced
- targa roll bar
- I looked at post from pelican forum and rennlist to try to find step by step process with all parts included. If you remember any useful threads please send me a link.

Thank you much
David

Everyone has their own preference for Mechanic in Los Angeles and there are lots of good ones. Tony Callas of Callas Rennsport in Torrance knows his stuff and is a great guy. It depends on Where in L.A. you are and how far you are willing to travel.

Suspension would be dependant on cost...Many are running KW, Bilstein PSS10s, but you could spend 10K+ looking at systems from Penske, Ohlins, etc. It depends on what you need.

Good luck with the project...I am also in the process of building up a Targa...look forward to seeing your progress.

I am in WLA. Thanks for suggestion, I contacted Tony and hopefully we can work something out.

The 964 has TPC supercharge and I want to make sure it has good stability with all that power. I think I better list what car has

- K&N air filter, Big Bore Throttle housing,
- B&B perfomance exhaust.
- TPC Supercharger was installed along with an H&R coil over spring and shock kit.
- Big Red Twin Turbo brakes were installed
- Big Red brake pads and rotors.

This is what car looks like now

and here somehow close what it should look like when done

So you're having a RWB built, or something similar?

Sounds like the car already has suspension mods. Does it not handling well as-is?

2 questions:

1) what is your intended use for the car?
2) what is your budget for suspension?
