The the OP: a good friend of mine also has a 89.5 Red C4 coupe that he bought from the local dealer principle after he returned from the 964 dealer launch meeting. That's the reason it seems almost all the 89.5 cars were red as each dealer got to drive their new red C4 at the meeting and then shipped it home to be the dealer demo. Cool story!
All the documentation is what sold me. I plan on beating the living **** out of it. bought all sorts of goodies just waiting to be installed.

I thought I would scan a snip from that touring pass that was kinda neat. Just removed the personal info for mr harper. Most of the book is policy, and not very neat. As a EU delivery it makes sense the purchase location is Stuttgart, but it sure is funny to see it in writing that it was bought where born.

In terms of history, the Berlin wall went down a short 4 months later. I now theorize that perhaps one of two of these initial 964 models made it close enough to the wall that the desire to have one may have triggered some world changes

I managed to find one of the showroom posters and had it framed. Happy with the outcome. This is one 'not a garage' photo

How does one find out if their C4 belonged to this dealer program? I have a guards red C4 with build date 9/89

This is the first time I've seen that version of the picture (with the lettering).
I never knew about the "Venturetour" dealer part of the picture.
Very cool.

I'm not sure, but that sounds much later since these would have all been built by March 1989 at the time of delivery. I'm still looking for information on anything related to it since it's kinda neat.

Jarod spun up a Venturetour thread over at https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...ve-thread.html so if anyone lands here and has interest in the tour or cars be sure and check that out as well.
