#964 624 010 02 Blower regulator driver
anyone know how this part operates ? is there a way to test it ?
i know it sends power to the HVAC blower motors. controls speed. does it measure amp draw of the motors at all ? any smart logic of sorts ?
i removed both blower motors, re oiled and they are operating fine when i test them on a 12v battery.
put everything back together. still have low blower volume but i notice a low "humm" type noise while twisting the **** from 1 -4 .
i swapped out an "alleged working used" version of 964 624 010 01 and have the same result.
any ideas ?

I have had motors test ok on the bench using a drill battery, only to find them not function at all once reinstalled. My limited knowledge of electrics led me to conclude that the amperage provided by the car was no longer sufficient to drive the failing motor, but my 18v drill battery had enough juice to make it go.
I would suspect it is the motor, and if you conclude it is not, then the next culprit would be the CCU itself.

I replaced the rear blower and that was all it needed. See here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Heater-Blowe...86d348&vxp=mtr
I am curious about this "hum" you describe, and where it is coming from. Before you spend the money on the fan you may want to put a volt meter on the power lead and get your wife/gf/trunk monkey, to turn the **** on the CCU and see that you are getting current at all points. Where in atlanta are you, maybe you could drive out here next week and I can help you troubleshoot?
We could swap parts and see what has failed in your car.

latest update :
i call the guys at systemssc about getting my CCU unit rebuilt. they questioned if my CCU was bad. ran through some scenarios and their over the phone diagnosis was that is was heat related in the rear. straight up guys !!!
1) check the 25 amp fuse
2) bad thermo sensor
3) bad rear blower motor
the fuse he is referring to is the one located in the side engine compartment box? if so, found pics.
the thermo sensor is inside the ducting ? if so, which ducting..pics?
and this may be dumb but how can you tell the engine blower motor is working ? there is a little exhaust port behind the drivers rear wheel that i believe is the exit for the fan air blown over the manifolds. i have no fan noise on shut down but not sure car was hot enough.
tks.
