Default Rotor Life - Street use only

What the heck, it's HUMP Day, let's do a study...

I know there are lots of variables in driving methods and style, down shifting with clutch vs brakes, etc... I would just like to get a sense of Rotor Life on your 964 by providing a few bits of info;

Street Use = 80% City 20% Highway
Model = C2 or C4
Rotor Type = Solid, Cast Drilled, Drilled, Slotted, Drilled/Slotted
Mileage before resurface
Mileage replaced
Type of Pads used

For my 1994 C4

75/25
1994 C4
Solid OEM
Original
Original
Stock then HPS Hawk

I put new front and rear Zimmermann cross-drilled rotors on my C2 in 2006 at 138,000 kms. Just had to replace the fronts at 199,000 kms. They measured just under minimum wear thickness. I used the Zimmermanns again, noticed they now come zinc plated so they don't look ratty quite as quickly. The rears still meet spec so I will wait till next year for those. I used the stock Porsche pads.

As for usage, I do mostly highway driving and probably did 4-6 PCA DE track days during that time period.

Am I to understand that frozen Rotors last significantly longer and not a Marketing gimmick? My stock rotors have 43k and have significant lip that I want to resurface or get new slotted only cryo rotors ....

I'd say stock rotors, with stock/street pads and street driving, would last for years and years.

I bought sebro rotors from pelican a few years ago. 20k on them and zero issues. And they were cheep. For me, as long as the steel is good, and they aren't drilled, they are perfect. They are rotors. The pads clamp against them, and they stop the car. There is some venting for cooling, but outside that, their job is done.

Well, that was the point of this thread... To pay for resurface if in spec or replace.... Wanted to see what the masses were doing? Not much input from thr Gallery let's here from the Cryo fans. Note I put Street only in thread title. Cheers!

I went with the cryo rotors simply because the stock Zimmerman's could not take the heat generated by DEing. For street only, I can't recommend the extra expense!
