If any LA County/Beach cities folk want to share who installed their new shocks and what they paid, would appreciate it.... PM works too.

Thx!

FWIW, back in 2008, I installed my springs/shocks myself but I paid a shop in NH $400 to set the ride height, do an alignment and corner balance.

And that is not off the table for me as I stare at these purdy things... Did you install coilovers? A few questions you can help clear up;

A. Did you drop inner side only of axles to create enough control arm drop to get struts in and out?
B. Did you need to seperate tie rod or ball joint at wheel carrier for any reason?
C. So, should I set all four at lowest collar setting for initial install?
D. Did you have to dremel modify for brake line clips? Any pics available?
E. Did you use typical parts store rental spring compressor?

Appreciate the input.....

for your suspension needs, take your car to Darin @ "West End Alignment" he's fair, meticulous, and knows what he's doing. several RL'isters use him. he installed my sways and pss10's. when i get more goodies, i'm going back to him.

A. Don't remembering having to do this.
B. Yes, you need to separate the tire rod ends but not the ball joints.
c. I set my collar to be the same as the ones that I removed. I didn't worry too much about this since I was having the shop set the ride height anyway.
d. No, my brake lines came off the old without problems.
e. Yes, I used a stock spring compressor. I bought a set at Harbor Freight. They are the same cost as it was for renting.

As for instructions? Pelican has a good tech article that outlines the procedure.

Good luck.

I have stopped in and spoke to Darren already for alignment. I have other work on car that I may seek package deal for more leverage with Indy mechanic. If that falls, Darren will definitely get that work too.
