LEDs conversion on dash lights

Thanks for this post. I'm thinking of doing this too. There is a guy on Instagram that has night photos of LEDs. I think it looks great. Will try and locate.
Doberman - I'd appreciate part numbers if you can track down CCU and console lights.

I know the there are two backlights used in the CCU. They are same type as what are used in the instruments. But, I don't know what the button lights are yet. If I get a chance tonight I'll shoot a little video to show you what they look like. I like them, over the old ones.

same request for console and CCU bulb sizes. i have a few burnt out bulbs both in the cash and consoles so might as well do them in one shot and have consistent look
i found a couple sources with "warm white" but dunno how the quality is. too bad superbrightleds don't carry the warm white (yet?)

No problem at all!
Found an electronics parts store that has the resistors and LEDs I need for the counsel lights. Still have to figure out the switch lights for the CCU. Hopefully, I get the removal tool soon, so I can yank it out, pull one of the bulbs, and take it there to find a suitable replacement. It's a old school store that has been here for years, so I bet those guys can figure out what I need.

CCU backlights changed. I haven't messed with the switches yet. Gonna have to figure out how to run a resistor the get some LED working for them I think. Unless there are bulbs available which would be great.
Ok, so it's pretty easy to change the backlights. You don't even have to take the entire unit out. You'll need a Blaupunkt stereo removal tool. They very cheap and easy to find. I paid $9 for mine. Slide the unit part way out. There are three clips on the top and three on the bottom you need to release to get the face off. After that, you'll see the twist lock bulb. Take them out and replace with your new LED bulbs. Button it back up and done. Also, if you really need to remove the CCU for whatever reason, you'll have to remove you cruise and wiper stalks from the steering column. Glad I didn't have to mess with that.
Much brighter and cleaner.
