Apologies if this has been mentioned before...

Recaro USA has a custom program (offered by their distributors) that allows customers to supply their own fabric for a very reasonable up charge; $300/seat IIRC. One gets charged the base fabric seat cost plus the premium and you supply the fabric of your choice.

I also have a red 964 and am looking at a similar "winter project". In the research that I've done a shop in Scotland was suggested, Scottish Weavers (scottishweavers.com). They have an excellent selection of fabrics and have been very helpful with sample swatches... the 1st 4 are free. The trimmer that I've used here in the states, Robert Budd at Classic 9 Leather, has experience with this company and speaks well of the them.

Not tartan but I think it looks good (993 comfort converted to sport seats).
