Default Tartan Recaro Seats

Hi everyone, from southern Spain!!
After some months of daily Reading today I´m ready to start my first topic in this incredible forum.
I own a 1990 C4 red guards coupé. Black leather interior, standard seats.
Love the car, love the engine, love the noise, not so happy with the seats.
I´m thinking seriously to go for Recaros. Pole Position too radical for me, not a track day enthusiats. Sportsters Cs is my most probable choice.
I like the retro look of the tartan upholstery as the one in these pictures.
Any idea where could I buy good quality fabric? The best for me is the first, but love any!!
Ideas, comments and suggestions welcome!!
Thank you in advance

Hi,

That looks great. If you try Southbound Trimmers in the UK I believe Dave keeps all the original Porsche cloth. In fact he has the last roll of original cloth with the Porsche script running through it

Cheers,
Paul

Welcome and I am glad to see I'm not the only one who likes Tartan. I have been looking at fabric for the past 6 months or so and the choices are overwhelming, but I finally narrowed it to 3 different patterns. If you don't care for staying with OEM fabric, there are a lot of places you can order from and I ended up settling on Lochcarron of Scotland. Their fabrics are wonderful and their customer service is outstanding, they answered all my silly questions and provided nice size samples for my choices.

You can use either the medium weight (called Braeriach at Lochcarron) or the heavy weight (called Strome at Lochcarron) fabrics, they are both suitable for automotive use. Personally, I prefer the Strome and this is what I will ultimately end up with. I will post my choices and share my ideas shortly.

I like the pattern in the second picture. The darker colors will not be soiled as easily. I do like the other patterns as well, but imagine they will start to look dingy quicker.

You should also consider recovering your door panels too.

Stunning! How about a matching ignition switch cover?

If you chose the customized decal, please provide needed color, pattern and sentence in the ‘order notes’ field. (no affil)

Those Tartan seats are fantastic. Having that touch of red in the fabric (and belts of course) to match the paint color of the car was a nice choice.

Your seats look amazing! Well done!

Was there any issue installing them in your C4? I was told by my local recaro distributor that they have had issues fitting those seats into the seatwell in 964 C4's. Something to do with the two manual adjusters on either side of the seat bottom making the seat too wide....

Any issue with that?

Thanks!

Interior looks great. Where did you source the fabric from?
