StopLookGo: Always check the simple things first. Before you do anything else, disconnect the battery cables and clean the connections, both the cable ends and the battery post, even if new. Also disconnect the negative-cable-to-body and clean that connection throughly (both the cable end and where it connects to the body).

 

Thanks for the replies. Another update. I tested the idle switch with the ignition in the on position and pushed the throttle cable down, there was an audible click sound but it wasn't coming from what I believe to be the microswitch. I tested with the ignition off and tested again and the sound was also present when I depressed the cable.

I've also checked the battery cables. All terminals and body connections are clean and tight.

A new development. I had to give it a little throttle to start her today. 2 out of 5 times. When I was looking around the engine bay I noticed the small FPR vacuum hose had popped out one end. Fixing it back was a chore as the rubber connector is now slightly shorter.

As it stands I believe i need a new FPR, FPR hose and, for peace of mind, an O2 sensor. Anyone have part numbers handy?

update - still had to give it a bit of throttle to start the car even after fixing the vacuum hose unfortunately.

that seems to be a very good deal. Unfortunately I am not Stateside. I'm in South East Asia so my options are quite limited.

 

Since I'm getting a new FPR, I was wondering if I would benefit from getting an aftermarket FPR? I do eventually plan to get a SW chip and cat delete.

Unfortunately no. I placed an order for a new FPR from Sunset but it hasn't been shipped yet. I'm hoping that will solve the problem.
