Wanted to mention I just did this mod on my 1989 C4 (Canadian car) and the wire was violet on my car. So I guess it can go either way...maybe mine is a later build or something.

Ok i'm thoroughly confused. Does the below NOT WORK?
Or does the above work?
Or are BOTH options???

I'm installing cup heater blower bypass and will retain heat.

I did mine like the above but only the loop from what can be best described as quarter past three. Ha ha did that even make sense.

Mines working but I'm putting an online fuse in to be safe.

Remove the green relay; now remove the relay support (2 8mm bolts). Underneath the green relay there's a violet (maybe green/yellow on early cars) wire: that's it! With the help of a tap-in squeeze connector, connect a wire to that violet one (I chose yellow because it usually stands for "switched +").
Now terminate the new wire with an appropriate spade, put everything back togather and you're done! Simple, effective and clear. The description is to tell you where to take power from and presumes you know what to do with the spades end of your new wire.
The spade end plugs into the same place the red wire is in the first picture on this thread. Simple as that!

There is no need for a fuse if done the way I've posted above as the voltage is minute.

So do you only plug one spade end in? What one? The 9pm one?

David, yes, it's the one at 9. If you have a look at post #1, pictures are quite clear, i think....
