What size brake pads do I need (pics inside)
Hello,
I have a '93 RSA that I purchased in nicely modded form. (I've got the original parts, too, but that's another story.)
I'm thinking it is time to replace my brake pads, but I'm having trouble determining what size pads I need. The calipers do not appear to be standard 964 calipers, as you can see in the attached pics. I have a binder of records from the prior owners, which includes a receipt for a "big brake kit," but the receipt does not provide further detail. Can anyone tell me what size pads I need for this application based on these images?
Many thanks!

Those are stock size...
I can't tell if you're running front calipers on all 4 corners or if the rears are indeed rears. Can you take a close look at the top of the rears, do they have the same piston humps as the front, or are they noticeably flatter across the top?
Regardless, front or rear, they use the same size pad.

Thanks for your reply! I'm surprised to hear the calipers are stock, but at least that will simplyfy things for me.
I'm at work now, so I'll have to check the rears to see whetehr they are different once I'm at home.
Thanks again for your help.

It may be worth noting that the bleed valve shown is at the bottom but should be at the top! This may be because the calipers have been fitted to the wrong sides - no effect on braking, but bleeding could be difficult.

Rotors look quite worn too....

Do they? Is there a way to check (that does not require buying a caliper gauge or other special tool)? The car has roughly 50k on it, so I'm surprised to hear that I might need rotors. What do you recommend as a replacement?
Thanks for your help!

Hopefuly the pics are upside down, the bleeds need to be at the top
The rotors are fine
the calipers are the stock 964 size but have been painted unless from a 964 3.6T,
the pads are the same front and rear on normal 964 w/ 4 pot calipers f/r, the RS/Cup and turbos used much bigger rotors and calipers and pads in front

They don't really look worn to me but the only way to tell would be to measure them with a micrometer. Take them down to your local parts store that turns rotors and see if they will measure them for you.
