I've gone with an NRG version 3. I've not actually driven the car as it's in final stage of tuning. It does support the horn function but it is definitely more for street than track.
I will report back after using it for a bit.

I switched to the NRG from a lightweight track (Sparco IIRC?) to regain the horn function. I have a few thousand miles on it and it does it's job well. I might disassemble it and recoat the collar to get rid of the NRG logo. It's much more bulky than the one it replaced, but the horn is worth the weight for now.

I used the Momo hub, not the NRG hub. I am on the tall side, I sit very far back, and I like the wheel close to me. So NRG quick release, Momo hub, and Momo Mod7 and she sits just where I like it. I'm sure many would think it's too close. Maybe not as much with a Prototipo.

Another bump on this one...

In order for me to use the NRG quick release (https://www.andysautosport.com/produ...BK-G2-ATW.html), what else would I need to run the Prototipo steering wheel? I am guessing some kind of adapter and maybe something to retain the horn? I just want to make certain that I have everything.

Also, let me know if there is a better option that retains the horn. Does Rennline keep the horn function?

Any links would be awesome! Thanks.

I used the NRG slim quick release together with the Momo 964 specific hub and a Momo steering wheel. All you need is included then to my knowledge.

So, something like this would be everything I need?

Yes, I would think so. You might need a small resistor for the horn, but in my case this was included with the steering wheel I think (Momo mod.07 Porsche Motorsport)

Thanks, I will look into that. I will also need the airbag bridge plug in.

Also, to be clear, if there are better options out there that retains the horn, please let me know. I am looking for the best quality that retains the horn. Thanks!

I'm sorry, thats what I meant, a resister for the airbag, not the horn :-)
I didn't need it as my 964 didn't come with an airbag from the factory..

I have about 10k miles on my Mod7/NRG/7004 combo and it's still doing it's job. That said, if a brand with a more reputable racing reputation offered an alternative, I would likely give it a shot.
