? re: hot start
Just came back from a long fast run. (when I passed a Camero at XXXmph, I almost sucked his doors off). Hot day. Eng temp never went past a hair over the first mark. Wife had to make a pit stop, so I browsed a nearby Antique store. When I went to re-start, it took 3 starter attempts. This has happened a couple of times in the past, always in hot weather. Almost like "vapor lock" Any ideas? Is this normal, or do I have some sort of glitch like mabey a cyl head temp sensor going south? Otherwise the car runs perfectly.

Dear Horst,
In the current weather conditions I believe this is not a problem that requires fixing if you know what I mean. Right now here in Switzerland it is 36C and very humid. I went for a cruise got hot stopped for a drink and a similar thing happened my idle was really wobbly as well. I think it is the fuel too hot.
Ciao,

PS: If the cylinder head temp sensor fails the DME adopts a pre-programmed 120C cylinder head temp. This is why when cold you have troubles caused by this sensor not when it is hot.
