Another 964 project thread
Hi all,
I started a little project thread a couple years ago, however, I've changed direction.
It's a eurospec '91, non-sunroof, starting life with a Tiptronic. I found her about 3 years ago on Craigslist and got it for a song. I fixed up the suspension first with KW V3s, Rennline strut mounts, camber plates and Walrod a-arm bushings. Then I swapped out the transmission for a G50/03, 996 GT3 RS Clutch/FW, RS shift lever, 993 pedal box, new bushings, and the works. I recently added the Recaro SPGs and I have the Porsche Motorsport Momo Mod-07. It also has RS engine mounts, g-pipe and the A/C has been partially removed.
No need to preach to the choir. It's becoming pretty raw. Every mod is great for the overall feeling. The clutch is brutal but the flywheel is awesome. Anyways, I took some pictures of where it's at right now.
I'm now planning some work to tackle over next winter. It needs a respray but I'm entertaining a color change. On the other hand I think Slate Grey is a classy color and would look great with some Fikses or the like. I'm open to any thoughts, suggestions, questions or comments. I hope to update this thread as I proceed.
I attached some pictures of where it's at right now. Thanks for reading.

Excellent car, good mods!
Perhaps lighten the car a bit more? I you are going to respray anyway consider some carbon parts? Interior?
Color looks great, I wouldn't change it one bit...
Change the turning signals to clear instead of orange, I always like that better and I would finish the transmission job by changing the face dial of your speedometer.
Looking forward to seeing more!

Awesome, looks just like my first Porsche!
Nice mods too, must be real fun to drive.
I would keep it in its classy grey, or go funky with a custom yellow or something.
Like most non turbo P-cars, engine tweaks are waste of $$$. Invest on making it lighter. Rear suspension is the weakness of the 964 with its weight. If you don't have the budget to get carbon fiber hood and doors, or don't have interest into that because you won't track it, focus on tweaking the chassis which is already in good shape obviously.
No sunroof, RS flywheel... you have to track it anyway

I've been toying with the idea for a while. The epitome of cool. Do the exterior and follow up with the frunk, etc.
By all means, PM any question, I'm happy to discuss. Just to add, a big part of the swap is that because it's eurospec, means no airbags thus I can swap steering wheels with no insurance related issues (it's illegal to remove airbags). Also the rare non-sunroof.
Thanks! Not too bad really. It's basically a clutch change on steroids. The shop did a great job though. That's mine for sale.
Thank you!
I purchased the seats as is from a member here. The owner before him velcroed the crests on. I'm going to get them sewn.
Thanks! Indeed, it's on a diet. I have some ideas in mind. RS carpet next once I settle on paint.
Many thanks! I've done a few autocrosses and my first track day is this Tuesday. I will GoPro it and post. (I won't push myself though, novice and all)
