Conundrum: Keep E30 M3 or get 964?
Hello all,
Have enjoyed reading through the forums here. Have been a bit of a lurker in the 964 forum as of late. I was hoping to get some feedback / opinions on the E30 M3 vs. 964 C2.
Currently I own two cars: 1972 911T w/ 2.7 and an 89 M3. The Porsche bug has bit me so hard that I'm considering trading what I thought was a car I'd keep for life for a second Porsche.
My M3 is extremely fun to drive (some awesome mods) and great from an investment standpoint (69k miles) and given the mods it's pretty fun at track days.
But driving my '72 is unlike anything else. It feels much more visceral and engaging.
Was hoping to get people's take (hopefully from experience).
FYI I did a search: All the threads on this subject are pretty old so hoping to get some fresh/up-to-date feedback from folks!

I would keep your line-up as-is.
You already have an air-cooled 911, it might not have as much power/grip as a 964, but it's probably more lively than a 964, a true vintage 911 experience. And the e30 M3 is another classic too, love those cars, cult car for sure. I won't unload an e30 M3 to get a 964 as 2nd air-cooled 911.

Hard to argue with your line up. If I had to change anything I'd swap the '72 911 for a 964 before I'd change out the M3. I personally enjoy driving the 964 more than I do early 911s...though they are fun in a different way.

1st a question for you, have you compared the driving to either of your cars to a 964?
If, I suggest you do that before you do anything else!
Unless you are getting bored with the M3 or your 911, why say goodbye to either of them in favour of something else. Maybe your best plan is to keep both and add a 964 to your collection.

Get the 964..... as well.
Mathematically speaking, the right numbers of cars to own is expressed as N+1, where N is the number of cars you have currently. The maximum number of cars you can have is expressed by the equation S-1, where S is the number of cars that would result in divorce.

As everyone says; if you can, keep the E30.

osj,
I agree with the others, you are set my friend.
A longhood is all the 911 experience you'll ever need, that car especially. Love the green... Viper Green? Interior shots of both please.
Now.... what do you daily drive? Maybe a 964 could replace that. A 964 Cabriolet?

For how much car does a man need? Your cars look fantastic and if they provide unique experiences for you, I'd keep the two. The 964 may be duplicative with you current 911.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
