Another Intro + Journal: 1990 Slate Gray C2
Here goes another cliche "Intro to my car" and "I figured it I'd finally post some pictures" thread! I rarely do car journals, but I thought perhaps now would be a good time to start.
I found my passion for Porsches at an early age when my neighbor purchased a brand spankin' new 993 C2S in black, which he still owns today. I remember the aircooled sound of bliss driving in and out of my court, while I played in my front yard. Fast forward 15 years and I have now been able to explore my Porsche bug. My first Porsche came last year in 2013, when I purchased a very original 1969 911T. The car was an absolute blast to drive with the revvy 2 liter and Weber carburetors, but I was soon reminded that my true passion was not in keeping cars original, but playing with them. This kick started my search for something a bit more exciting. In January 2014, I found, and purchased for an absolute steal, a 1977 930 Turbo Carrera black/black in Downtown Los Angeles (a couple of miles away from Porsche nut Magnus Walker). Although this vehicle satisfied many of my needs, I felt an NA car was needed to complement. Being a steal that the 1977 was, it allowed me to explore other P-car chassis'. I narrowed my search down to the 964, as I've always believed the chassis provided the perfect balance between comfort and performance. My only requirements for the car were for it to be manual and the color Slate Gray Metallic. I love this color for its different hues during day and night. Of course, it's also a perk that it was a factory $2,000 option. I sold the 1969 911T and a week later I purchased this beauty.
The car is a 1990 964 Carrera 2 in color option Slate Gray Metallic. I purchased the car from the PO in San Jose, CA on Friday the 13th of June 2014. The vehicle was built in 2007-10 and sold in 2010 by David R. (Rennlist user: Ritter v3.4.6) and is an absolute weapon to drive. The PO drove the car back to California, where it was original sold new, after purchasing the car from David.
My plans for the car is keep it as a street/DE day hybrid, and it has a very good base for that. The chassis has roughly 150k miles, but less than 15k on the motor and 5k on the transmission.
Special thanks:
David R. (man who built this masterpiece) - for baring with me on the phone to learn more about the build.
Steve Weiner - for enlightening me on the chip of this car.
Eric B. - for selling me this wonderful car and being one of the best sellers I've ever dealt with, patient, and a great caretaker.

Ahhh there she is. I know this car as I met the PO when I was in search of my 964 back in 2012. Was it Eric? Awesome guy and a true enthusiast. This car is no slouch as it shows on the specs. At the time it was more than I can handle since this car is already set up for some serious DE as it is. Congrats and welcome! You're in for some fun driving. Love the color and wheels too! Perhaps I'll see you around the bay area if it so happens.

Yes! Eric is a great guy, and as you said, a true enthusiast. He mentioned to me that he would like to eventually move onto a Caterham street car. I'm excited for him.
Was this vehicle for sale at the time you saw it? Did you end up with a 964?

I ended up with a 90 C4 all stock when I purchased it. Not as fast as yours but oh still sooo much fun! I look forward to going to work every day and it's not because of the job.
Congrats again!
