Burston
I am going to give it a try. I've spoken to "Otto", a nomme de guerre, and he said probably one day turn around at about "$125 or so." I'm not sure about the price as he was on a cell phone in the middle of LA looking at girls. The conversation was somewhat unjointed, if you read me. I didn't know if he was talking about CCUs or chicks, most of the time. Associates of his say he has a good shop, a good wrench, and a passion for racing. "Otto" said he has hired an "older fellow" who had extensive working on electronics in the aerospace industry, and they apparently have the Bosch diagrams and manuals, with access to the repair partsfor CCUs, radios etc, on-board-computers etc. Look for his web site; ottosvenice.com. Good luck.

They rebuilt my DME last November. Had the same type of conversation with Otto....candid, up front, on the mark and the work spoke for itself. Runs like a charm.

Thanks for the input guys - I am in the UK and emailed Otto's - they said it would be $425 plus carrige not $125 but as a new one from Porsche in the UK is £900 + tax (about $1400) this seems reasonable (if it works). If I get it done I will post in the forum and let everybody know how it went.

Burston- please let us know how you make out- I was looking to get mine rebuilt as well as its all screwed up....part is overly complex, and a new one is $1,200-$1,300 at the dealer, so about the same price here as in the UK.

There is a place in Itlay I think whichalso does this. Check out the tech section on www.porsche964.co.uk
There is a write up with contact details - may be a better bet if you are in the UK.
Have you tried buying a used unit from, say, Porsche Apart?
