Default Oxygen sensor

I have a 93 with 27k miles and am doing some routine work. The O2 sensor has never been replaced. I have never gotten a CEL to indicate it's faulty. Should I consider replacing it? The car runs fine so I'm not sure. The car has seen some leaded fuel in the past and I know that can wreck a sensor after a while, but again, no CEL.

Thanks.

I would test it to see if it's working probably. Search checking o2 sensor and you will find lots of info.

Not a bad idea but a nice multimeter is more expensive than an O2 sensor.

Dont buy an expensive one....el-cheapo mutimeters are the best. Drop them, kick them, leave them on for a month - they just dont seem to care and last for donkeys.

I got my multimeter for under 10 dollars at harbor freight. Works great.

HF gives them away, there is always a coupon for a free multimeter , I have a few and they work great, I also havbe a few others ("good" ones) and they dont get used as much as the HF freebie

I have a cheap multimeter (non digital) but most resources online say the cheapos won't work. That's why I mentioned I'd have to get a new one.

cheap,multimeter will definitely do
easy to test ,plenty of reference on this forum
i have just changed mine which was faulty(sudden increase in CO and HC and the last emissions test)
pain in the axxx to take the old o2 out (heat welded )
but retested yesterday : CO at 0.004 to 0.007 !!
on the old one ,one of theplatinum " electrodes " on the central zirconium post was slightly corrded
