Default Will I get used to LHD in UK?

I've a few budget classics, all RHD, and a LHD 964 that just arrived. Not liking the LHD experience so far. Will I get used to it? Anybody else dislike it at first but get used to it?

It always appears worse than it really is. I've done it for years either here with LHD or "there" with RHD - it's really a confidence thing. Best tip to absorb is to always maintain a good safe separation distance from vehicles in front to afford yourself a wider field of view past other vehicles. If you're still unsure, contact a local advanced driving group (RoADAR or IAM) and get some training.

What aspect do you not like ? I got used to mine quite quickly as the 964 is such a small car. Did feel odd at first though mainly because I'm not used to changing gears with my right hand.

I drove LHD 964's for about 6 years in London before moving out of the UK and didn't have any issues with it, although it did take a while to fully get used to it.

The pedals are a lot better situated on LHD 964's too, so the driving position is actually a little better than a RHD car.

Give it some time. You have a really stunning 964 and it'd be a shame to sell it so quickly!

Well I have attention deficit issues LOL and switch cars almost daily between some budget classics. So maybe the 911 one day and an old MK1 MR2 the next. The roads here are narrow, windy, and there are vertical stone walls or hedges. I was fine in a LHD camper as I could see over them but feels different being so low down in the Porsche. I'm okay once I get on main roads. I wasn't going to mention "the sale" ahem ... I'm being hasty aren't I.

I've just bought one and it's having an engine build now but for me I actively searched for a LHD as I wanted something very authentically German and old school Porsche. You'll adapt no problem just give it time .
I drove mine last weekend through narrow roads etc no issues at all.

I have driven mine in the UK and haven't had any issues other than getting used to changing gear with my right hand was an issue driving on the left or right anyway.

If only I could find away of getting in and out of car parks without having to get out of the car every time to get a ticket all will be fine.

No, you never will. All those that say they do are really only driving at 1/2 their ability...max. All LHD 964s really should stay in LHD countries. Having said that you will be fine behind the wheel of any other LHD car while driving in the UK...just not 964s

I am,
only thing is when you enter a parking,
the pedals are set better and the dead pedal,
The other thing is , it seam that the car in EU are sold for more money ( for the moment)
The other thing is if you do a lot of track days you may not be sitting on the right side for weight distribution...

Tks Steve it's having an engine build at Paul Stephens now. Won't get it till end of april I recon if not later. Have started looking to source small cosmetic parts it needs lights etc. I set out wanting a lhd so if I regret it I have myself to blame

It's a jap import well documented no sign of rust (touch wood) with air con ( needs fixing) and 60k miles. Guards red black sports interior no pics yet. Gonna be my new project so I'll be on the hunt for some suspension at some stage though it's on lowering springs already at a perfect ride height . Is it worth while/possible to refurb the current suspension ? I ask as the bilsteins on my RS have been refurbed.
Will need running in and we must finally meet at some stage!
Still taking my lotus to Spa in July

PS it has a LSD too
