HERE is one place and there are lots of others.

What are your expectations? If it's for anything other than aesthetics you are wasting your money.

Ok, I see just the motor is that price and I guess I was looking up the whole assembly. Either way, still happy with the bypass pipe.

I'd obviously get the air intake for performance reasons, but an added bonus would be to clean up that side of the engine bay. The EVO HighFlow kit looks pretty good, but haven't really don't any research into intakes yet.

The picture with the 2 jumper wires is NOT the way to go, thats an old thread. You run a 7.5 amp fused wire from the + side of the coil to post #87 in the relay socket. That is by far the best way to go. Anto 1150 was the one who came up with that solution, and has worked perfectly for me, with no drain issues.

You disconnect the heat sensor and the resistor, I el taped off the ends and zip tied them out of the way. I also pulled the 30 amp fuse for the heater blower motor, so no power to the wires.
As far as the relay, look in the picture above, its right next to the coils.

Thanks, I was only able to be with the car for the weekend, so it will have to be a job for another day. It seems pretty simple and straight forward though.

Crg53, what was the issue with the jumper method that you first used?

I have looked at doing this before, but all the disparate information did not make the DIY very clear. crg53 - it seems to be pretty easy with your instructions. NJ964 - please post some final pictures and the steps you took to get this install done so the HVAC fans still work as needed.

Thanks for taking this project on....

I didn't have any issues, but others have reported battery drain with the double jumper wires. My car is always on a battery tender when parked, but if you leave it sitting for a while without you may run into problems.

I think the drain is depending of MY. I have a -92 and have had the double cable set up for many years now and I haven't noticed any draining problems. In earlier threads it seems this is more crucial on earlier cars (if it is a real problem).

A tip is to not touch the CCU until you're done with the whole setup. If you do you'll probably activate error codes that shuts down the fans etc, and you can' reset them without a scantool/Hammer.

Well I'll have a couple months before I get back home to where the car is, in the mean time I will do more research into wiring solutions. Once I get back and finish everything up, I will take some detailed pictures and do a proper write up.

Thanks for the help,
James

If you go to page 2 of this thread, he has a pretty decent write up on the relay bypass. Basically the same way crg did it but he wired up a new relay (old one melted) and changed the 7.5A fuse in the box instead of in the wire.

As a side note, this thread has a lot of other interesting write ups worth taking a look at.

Appreciate you adding that link here. This is a piece I've been tossing around for a while now too.
