Default Harley Intro: Baltic Blue 1989 C4 Mod journal

I just purchased my first Porsche, an 89 C4 with only 80k miles as a business vehicle. I purchased from a client in Florida and have spent the last two weeks driving across the Southern U.S. and then up the coast to my home near Seattle. 'Harley' who came with the name was delightful and it was needless to say a fantastic trip. Harley recently at 79k miles had top end rebuild, clutch and lots of small odds and ends replaced. The wheels were original Fuchs I am told (only an 89 option) instead of the D90. Only issues I noticed were a small leak in seal on drivers side windshield and a cabin fan that works great on cold but somewhat less so when the heat is turned up... curious if any on knows a solution. Anyway, after browsing through around 1/2 the posts on here I am proud to put up one of my own!
Cheers,
Brian

Is Harley Baltic blue? Love the color! Congrats! That's a great way to learn about your car! 2 weeks driving her home from Florida to Washington! Wow, just wow!

Sounds like a special road trip. Those wheels are indeed a very rare factory option and damn cool.

Congrats & welcome

Your wheels are commonly referred to as 'flat-dish' or 'sewerlids'. They are forged and lightweight. Most commonly seen on the 928. I like them.

Thanks everyone! There are some really incredible cars here! It is indeed Baltic Blue and currently stock. I was unsure at first on the wheels...sewer lids! Ha! ...but growing on me. I definitely would like to lower it a tad and maybe use spacers on the rear to flush out the wheels more.

Welcome Brian!
What a great road trip experience getting to know your first Porsche.
These are awesome cars, but very strange and unique at first.

You mentioned buying the 64 as a business vehicle... looking forward to seeing what you're going to do with it?

Absolutely loved the entire experience! I own a high end custom furniture design-build firm and was looking for a vehicle for business meetings etc as I travel frequently. I considered a new 911 but ultimately enjoyed the classic better! I love the rawness and simplicity...

Lovely car!! as other shave said the wheels are not Fuchs but 928 style alloys. Sounds like you're hooked. Welcome to the 964 club!

Congrats and welcome Brian, what a fantastic road trip! We did this a few years back when flew to UT to buy a Hemi powered Wrangler, then went straight to Moab, then CO, then the Black Hills, and finally home. Great memories.
