Just checking on what level fuel you RS guys run in your cars. I noticed the factory is specifying 98 RON. Are you all running this spec? The fuel here in the states is not all that wonderful. 92 RON is the premium grade here unless you opt for race gas.
Cheers!

Fuels in Canada and the US are Ron+Mon/2, which is different than European Ron rated fuels. Ron 98 is equivalent to Pon 94, Pon is Ron+Mon/2.

Thanks Steen,
So in Canada what is the premium grade considered? Here in California it's 92. Is this OK for the RS cars? I wonder if the fuel requirements are any different for a standard C2 vs RS?

I don't know what the fuel requirements are for the RS, but I would guess 93 should be sufficient. Premium fuel here in Canada is 91, Chevron and Petro Can sell ultra which is 94.

Chris,
The RS runs best with 98 RON (or 93-94 R+M/2). It CAN be made to run on CA's 91, but you'll not get max performance.
Its all in the software.

The RS motor is no different than any other 964 other than maybe a little closer balance between crank, rods and pistons. The 10 extra HP comes from the chip.
Just get a Wong chip for whatever octane you're running. I only use Sunoco Ultra 93. Unfortunately in NY even Sunoco has ethanol so I add Sta-bil Ethanol treatment.

Thanks guys, I think the chip makes the most sense. We actually get 92 here, but it's not all that good. The race gas runs $8/gallon, so it wouldn't take long to pay for the chip.
Jeeeez B, thats some pricey gas up there! Is that what you run in the C2?

Thanks Jordan, Thomas, CC (B) :-) Your input is greatly appreciated.
BTW, what is normal gas priced at in Canada. Here in Cali we pay $4-$4.50 gallon for 92 depending where we are. Now and then it's under $4.
