Default 964 WHEELS: Kerscher FX 18"

Dear all,

Loving the forum, this is my first post and I would like to seek some advice on this wheel option that I've been craving for sometime now.

I have a 1992 Silver 964 Narrow Body that I love in Hong Kong, I want these sexy wheels as wide as possible and I want the most outrageous lip/dish but I dun want spacers and I dun wanna rub.

These Kerschers are so tasty, looking @ 18" all around for the looks and I'm willing I sacrifice handling. Been exchanging emails with Kerscher and they told me Front 18x8.5 and Rear 18x10.5 is the widest I can use....but with spacers Front 3mm and Rear 7mm spacers.

Problem is that I'm afraid the car will wobble and vibrate with spacers so I asked if it's possible to run Front 18x8 and Rear 18x10 without spacers...unfortunately they said no becox of some part of clearance which I don't quite understand what they meant (waiting for response at the moment)

So I'm really confused! Suppose I will figure out the best tire size and suspension setup eventually locally...I looked up this other thread with this red 964 with cargraphics....same to similar offsets for these Kerschers but Kerscher still say need spacers...arrggghhh

Offset Reference: http://www.kerscher-tuning.de/raeder/index.php?id=20

Anyways, anybody here got these awesome wheels???? hope somebody can help me out, thanks and please reply shortly

Did you ask them what the spec of the wheels on the silver 964 were?

Welcome.
Might be easier to speak to rotiform. They 'understand' what your trying to do.
Good luck!

Hi g60pops, here is the quotation they sent me with specs and offsets:

Get the Otto Fuchs wheels. There is/was a buy on the 993 forum recently. We were able to negotiate a pretty sweet deal directly thru the manufacturer. These are the real deal wheels. You still might be able to get in on group deal if you are serious. Just ordered my set on Thursday---can't wait!!!

If you want to run without spacers on the front you could go for a 8x18 et52
and for the rear 10x18 et39 - for this you will need to run quite a bit of negative camber.
Plenty of 964s have this size without spacers, though I don't know why Kerscher would say they will not clear?

Here is a screen shot of their Offsets Page. I'm so glad that there are some people liking these wheels as some purist friends say they suck!!! Lol

Hey guys, new update, I'm really confused,,and I'm not sure if Kerscher is trying to talk me into getting those expensive spacers from them I mean they insisted that I will need spacers anyways but according to some of you brothers who responded to my this thread this obviously isn't the case.

They insisted that the whether I go 8" instead of 8.5" fronts....and 10" instead of 10.5" rears..I will still need spacers...

While the widest I can go is:
Front 18x8.5J (offset 46)
and
Rear 18x10.5J (offset 58)

And I mean if I do need spacers I would just get them locally anyways..but they also say 3mm front spacers and 7mm rear spacers are Hubcentric! I mean,,,I never knew that Hubcentric spacers go below 12mm.....????

Thanks guys will really appreciate further advise!

I can't help you with wheel widths and offsets, I get confused all the time and it makes my head hurt. But, I am pretty sure H&R have hubcentric spacers from 5mm and up, check their site. Hope this helps.

Hi,

Front you should be at ET52. I run 47 but that is with lots of negative camber and rolled lips.
Rears you should be at ET47.

Now according to them a 3mm spacer on the front would make ET43 which means the wheels would stick way out of the arches....
A spacer over 5mm will require longer wheel hub studs for safety reasons.

Looking at the sizes available and assuming this is for a narrow body I would recommend the following for a straight swap,
8J ET52 with 225
10.5J ET46 with 265

Thank you Betty! Yes mine is a narrow body!

So what your saying is...running what u recommend:

- Front: 18x8J ET52 with 225
- Rear: 18x10.5J ET46 with 265

....I don't need to roll my fenders, and I will not rub inside or outside and I also don't need to use any spacers yea????? Hope u can reply soon!!!! ^_^
