I was up at Lemass today and saw the PDL. The under bonnet area and inner wings look superb. The modded rear middle section is slick and SICK! Tom hasn't got a back box on the exhaust so it's what our friends over the pond would refer to as 'running on open headers' ... It sounded absolutely insane. Trust me this car is going to be something else! Oh, and running on New Old Stock E28 magnesiums tailor-made for the car - will be like dressing Kylie in Agent Provocateur lingerie

Tom, I found this for sale here in Switzerland, thought it might give some idea's for and what not to do.

Rubystone Fire Extinguisher? I can help you with that too.

It's turbo charged by the way with about 420 PS.

Ooh love that. Looks good with just black leather and painted backs too.
Fire extinguisher is nice touch.
What's the header tank for in the trunk?

Only £60k too. Not a genuine RS then? Or is it cheap because of the turbo?

Don't forget about VAT. Still fairly cheap although I suspect that engine mods would put off the purists/investors a bit

I thought it cheap too, then I saw the photo of the engine, and what's is that box thing, reread the ad and understood.
Can't tell if it's a genuine RS or not, but it must be I think.

There is also another 3.3 turbo in Rubystone inside and out. About the same price.

That turbo would be a bargain then

There you go Tom.
Is a bit more expensive than I thought, but at 39k Km's, not a bad price really.

The more I think about it, the more I don't think it's a real RS.

1. Do standard RS seats have the "Recaro" wording embossed in the leather like that? They're also usually tripple colour too? To me, these seats look like standard Recaro PP's.
2. Doesn't the RS use the intensive washer bottle for it's screen wash? I can't see that in the photo which could also mean it's a standard car modded to look like an RS.

Definitely not standard RS seats - lack of the back ribbing is a good tell. (Maybe the person sold the original seats to pay for the turbo and pay off the mortgage for his house?)

Also the powered doors aren't true RS - powered windows, locks.

(edit - Maybe it was a touring RS that was converted?)
