I had a bad control module. Old one shorted when pervious engine caught fire. Also the computer under driver seat also shorted so car ran like crap when the motor was installed. All good now since I had the parts in stock.

Porsche just somewhat recently (within the past 12 months) spec'ed a new plastic for the 964 rear tail lamps and closing panel that shouldn't fade to pink. (fingers crossed). So avoid NOS rear lamps!

I hope my new lights are the better version. They are the original brand. Forget what that is. SWf or something?

Really, that sound awesome. My porsche mechanic told me that every time he saw a set on eBay.de he purchase it because they are so hard to get.
Do you have any link to that story?

I replaced my lights almost 9 years ago. It lives in my garage an even with the Florida sun when its outside they have not faded any that I can tell. I think i paid about $160 per light and $180 for the center when I replaced them. Looks like I could make some money if I parted them out

greg1990964, is your new center reflector come with a green reverse lights ?

I got a set from Sunset last September, and find out the reverse lights is green. The light bulb is regular bulb, but there are pieces of "green reflector" (about a credit card size) inside the lens. Like this RUF when in reverse: https://rennlist.com/forums/6155913-post17.html

I'm wondering if this is the "new" version, because my old one are clear reverse lights.

Mine are regular. I checked the reverse lights once and they looked white.

Are we talking about lens color or actual light output color?

Red exterior lens + green lens inlay + full spectrum incandescent bulb = white light output.

Your original tails probably started the same colors as your new units, except 20yrs of sun meant the deep red was now more like pink and the green inlays are now more like light aqua blue, approaching clear.

looks great. I was about to order a new set for my car and then I saw Gus light wrap and gave it a try and they turned out great for me.

I brought a used center reflector because mine was damaged and the other two did have small cracking but they are now very hard to see with the wrap.

It was in a Porsche Classic Newsletter from last year so I emailed a friend and got a little more info.

Lights marked SWF are not the "new and improved"

This is the label from the box the new ones are in..they started production Jan 03 2013, I just got the complete set from Sunset a few months ago..Got the Euro center reflector and wired it so the fogs are additional brake lights..
