Default Front Blower Fans: repair or replace?

My front blower fans have been squealing for a while at low speed and for the first time must have created enough of a load that it blew the #1 Fuse. It looks like I need to replace them but before I do has anyone ever repaired them? I suspect the bearings need some grease after 20 years. Is this possible or is it just better / easier to replace? If I replace is there a good source or is the only real option a 964 part / price?
Thanks for the suggestions.

After some research it would seem the right side fan is shared with a Mercedes 190 with a mod to swap the fan it will work. The left fan has a slightly different winding shape but with a little work to the housing the right side fan can be used. More info on bearing change etc on this link below.

I have a pair of fans that I pulled from a 92 C2 with 90k. I oiled the bearings and they don't wooble. Let me know if you may be interested.
