My third brake light was burned out and I bought 1156 bulbs to replace the 1156LL bulb. It is not working, are the two not interchangable? Is there a fuse to check for the brake light?

Is it an LED bulb or standard?

Some LEDs need load resistors.

I've ran a few regular 1156 bulbs on mine with no issue.

I think there is a fuse. I know each the left and right signals have separate fuses, so probably is a brake one, but it would be linked to all brakes. So if your tail light brakes aren't coming on...

regular incandescent bulb, and the other brake lights work. I have replaced the fuse that controls the dome lights as that was blown. No Dice

I'm pretty sure the two are interchangeable. I think the LL just stands for Long Life or something like that. Time to get out the volt meter.

^^^Agreed.

Make sure you're getting power.

You can also test the bulb with a battery to make sure it's work, or even use a multimeter to check for continuity on it.

A newbie silly question.
I don’t think ive missed it on all the pages.
Inside two of my wheel archers there is the body colour and two appear to have a black under seal.
What should it be?
And what under seal is used.
Thanks so much for your help.

It varies. I have a C2 with colored wheel wells and my blue turbo has black. I just worked on a nother 94 turbo and it had blue and is all original. So your guess is as good as mine.

Here is an interesting question??

I have seen many of these cars including several 3.3 and 3.6 turbos and for some reason my turbo has this extra piece of what almost looks like Carbon Fiber.

Does anyone else have this?

The other pictures are of my 93 C2 and 90 C4 which look like every other 964 I have seen.

Default Considering buying a c4

But I really want a rwd car. Is the conversion possible? Can you just remove the front diff and associate plumbing? Or is the transmission housing different and won't allow you to do this?

It is far easier to convert a C4 into a C2 by changing out the tranny and driveshafts. Others have gone through extensive modifications by cutting and modifying the tranny but IMO that is much more work. Also there is a lot involved with having the system not through faults by the missing components.

Thank you for that cobalt.

Also the front bumper air vent area, has changed shape and as my wife said looks sad.

Is that common or is there someway to fix that?

Thanks again for your help.

Common and easy to fix: Just unscrew the lower part of the front bumper (a few screws in the front wheel wells, and the rest are from underneath), and then you will see part of the front frame in the middle of the car which is the piece that needs to be straightened.

Also if the right, or left under panels are broken from curbs, drive ways, etc.....they are still available.

Q: are the crush washers for Engine and Tranny the same - the part numbers differ but indie selling parts claims they are the same size and thickness ... true?

Default The silly little question thread ...

I'm looking for a nice 964 and I was wondering if I should be worried about that rust spot. Is this the plate rusting? Any thoughts
