The US set is the genuine article, although while being refinished the markings "Magnesium" and others have been covered over to some degree, not as sharp. They look like decent wheels and clean.

The German set are Turbo cup 1's. I have a set on my C2. Nice!!!

Hi Runtothehills,

Do you still have the magnesium wheels? Are they for sale?

I could be wrong but I believe the first set is aftermarket. The factory magnesium wheels i have seen have clear markings saying magnesium and nothing else on the face other than size and offset by valve stem. There seems to be another marking more than likely the manufacturer's marking which would not be factory.

the others are stock cup I's as stated.

No that's wrong. The genuine wheels have the makers name on them Made by SM. There should also be the Porsche part number on the rear of the wheels in the hub area.

SM is there but i don't see a part number. Although the backs of these look right and are similar to the backs of the magnesium centered speedlines.

I have only seen one set and they did not have SM on the face only "magnesium" was there more than one manufacturer?

Part numbers are hard to see. They are deep in the rear webs. They are legit. Speedline emblem is on face of wheels, at least all the sets I have seen, and that's a total of 3, so maybe there are sets without.

They show Magnesium, made by SM and the sizes 7.5 55 and 9 55 next to the valve stems. If the lettering has gone it's probably down to refurbs either shaving them down or covering up with excess paint / powdercoat.
To the best of my knowledge there is only one manufacturer and one spec of these wheels. I have an RS with correct wheels and have looked at many others and have never seen genuine wheels that look any different.

I too thought the SM markings could have indicated aftermarket replicas. but apparently this is the genuine markings for the mag wheels. they also say magnesium.

This is correct. The rears are 9's though not 9.5's.
