One article does not make a magazine. I enjoyed the recent new 991gt3 article, it was very informative, well written and included opinions and accurate facts.
I admire their opinions of admired enthusiasts but if the facts are sloppy they mean nothing.
Too bad that this article was front and center and was not fact checked.

My experience with the magazine is that "new" articles are very well done....but the "Buyers Guides" tend to be rehashes of old guides that were printed in the past with little work done to update them.

Pete used to edit all the articles, friends of mine who have worked with him commented that very little got passed him. Good for Pano now.
Seems no one is doing the job now at Excellance, they may need to change the name of the mag.

Well at least a 964 based car is on the cover. I'm waiting to see a lot of "ten grand or less" cars in the resale market before I start buying them up. I liked the 959 article.
Editing is slipping, p.117 Project 933

Just picked up this issue at B&N this evening. Author Bryan Joslin adds nothing to the 964 story and rehashes tired, old phrases such as : " Isn't the most beloved of 911s; awkward middle child; second class status among 911 enthusiasts" just to name a few. He then goes on to state that "Resale values bear this out with examples routinely offered for ten grand or less". Yes. He actually put that in print. All of this was on the first page of his "Buyers Guide". It's really a shame that no one at Excellence bothered to proofread his article. Too bad Bryan (with a Y not an I) didn't decide to further educate himself on this matter by conducting more thorough research. The "On the Market" side bar to the article continued to make additional swipes at the 964 and admitted that "the occasional rough example will pop up for ten grand or so, the value of a solid runner runs north of $20k". Save your hard earned $5.99 and put it towards a copy of TOTAL 911. Not sure where journalism has gone, but suffice it to say this article contained enough weak sauce to persuade me to never buy another issue of Excellence again. If anyone wants my copy, let me know. I'll ship it free of charge (lower 48 only of course as I am already out 6 bones...).
That was an 'interesting' definition of journalism.

How has no one mentioned that that is not a 964 engine until the above post. I noticed that right away. When I saw it, I thought what idiot could make such a mistake. Then I read the article. Obviously, Bryan Joslin is the idiot.

Just noticed : "Speedster version of the 964 debuted in 1989". Hahaha
Seriously. Was this written and researched by a hack without a computer or concept of Google? Excellence needs to send this fraud to a "Porsche for Dummies" class before they ever let him put pen to paper ever again.
Total 911 is offering its US readers a special deal of $78 for 13 issues. I have no affiliation with Total 911 but consider it far superior to the weak offerings here in the States.
