what a day. got there around 12:30 and bill got right to work. had all 4 wheels on in a matter of minutes, went to lower the car, and the tires were visably low... scary low in fact. he had mounted them 24 hours earlier, 36psi rear, 32 front. threw a gauge on them and got 6lbs and 9 on the front, 36 and 10 on teh rear. damn.
naturally, i blame the wheels. bbs even warns you to check your pressure once a week on their race wheels. cut to a few mins later, wheels are off, and in a water bath to see where the leak(s) are. wouldnt you know it, the entire tire is leaking all the way around at the bead.
well tire rack is closed on sundays. only option is to sand down the beads. so thats exactly what i did for nearly 3 hours. my hands are so raw right now my iphone wont actually unlook via the fingerprint scanner. no lie.
tires remounted, and water tested again. good to go. onto the wheel ****. sorry for the iphone pics but i promise good ones soon.

have to take the time to thank dave and everyone at fabspeed for being so helpful all the time. they got me a great deal on these wheels and got them to me quicker than i ever could have imagined possible.

oh it wasnt the wheels. it was the tires! it was some sort of manufacturing defect. three tires that leaked were built 18th week of 2014. the one that didnt leak was built on the 15th week. the bead was visibly different with the leaky ones having a lot of excess material. the wheels are not at fault here.

man, i dont even know what to say at this point. i have the worst luck. ever.
friday im driving home after dropping my girlfriend off at work. sitting at a red light in downtown boston about .5 miles from home. i was the second n line at a red light with a f150 from NY in front of me. the trucks reverse lights come on, and i cant back up. i honk to get his attention but he starts backing up, and this point all i can do is lay on my horn and wait for the inventible. the pic can speak for itself. thankfully for this guy a boston transit cop pulled up and most likely saved this guys life.
insurance co has seen it. car is already broken down, just need the appraisal. thankfully no issues underneath, just the visual damage. im going to fight to have the whole front end resprayed, including a windshield out respray of the cowl.

Sorry to hear. I think you get close enough behind someone with an SUV or in your case an F150 they just won't see you especially a lowered car. I try not to get too close to bigger cars if I can help it. Good luck with your insurance. At least she'll be looking like new in no time!

I was far enough behind him that i could see his mirrors, i think thats plenty far for city traffic.. At least i would have thought.
