REDTEK Engine Build
So on Saturday I dropped off the car for its much needed top end with a few extras. I had a similar moment to Frank when I was dropped off at the station and was able to see the car driving away from me. In my case that included a sizeable cloud of smoke.. so can't claim the effect was quite the same!
So will update details as I go, this won't be a totally radical rebuild, pretty standard but probably with some custom cams. Also other little bits will include:
-Lightweight Tinware
-Deleting the rear blower
-Plating the various pulleys and connectors
-Powder coating the fan (not sure on colour yet)
-Chip

Torque curve - custom Cams
Also, since Nick can do totally custom cams I wondered if instead of a cup profile I should ask him to do one which specifically boosted bottom end and mid range torque? I've been told the cup cam boosts power everywhere but really i'm just interested in a fat torque curve. Is it the case that the cup cam provides best power at the bottom end as well so might as well just stick with it or would a custom design provide more bottom end torque?
