finally into reassembly its been a while but i was waiting for the nose bearing on back order
got up to installing the head studs (993 studs)
today i got stuck on the piston wrist pin clips i can't get them in. i tried making a tool but got frustrated and decided to order the 964 original installer (don't want to bugger things up at this stage
i got a couple in but can't see myself getting the rest in without loosing another finger lol
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-e...ees-knees.html

here is a few more pics

i also decided to install H&R blue springs and 7mm spacers too

best

Stomski Racing makes some really good engine assembly tools.

its been a while since my last post i've been eager to get the motor finished but had to wait patiently for the wrist pin installer from Germany and a few other goodies
this was my attempt at making a wrist pin installer based on what i was seeing other guys do
i wasnt successful
so i ordered the one from Germany

My wife and i where in Anaheim vacationing over the Easter break so i was lucky to have Pelican send it to the hotel

for me this was one of the most difficult operations each time it took about 3 attempts to lock in the pin

this is the German pin installer, nice

i secured it in the vise on a sold surface to inject the clip to the groove seating at the bottom of the cylinder first

That is a sweet wrist pin installer. We ended up modifying a 4mm allen wrench, a couple of notched screw drivers, and with two sets of hands were able to get the buggers in. I reflect on this with nostalgia even though it was only in April.

Thanks for following

I've had a snails pace going on with my motor do to my business relocating.
I only get a few hours in here and there but i hope to do a push to get the car running soon
here are a few pics of the clutch bushings being installed

I'm at the timing stage right now but am feared i made a mistake earlier when disassembling
When removing the front pulley i took it right apart, allen screws and all. now my Z1 or TDC mark is out of whack with No. 1 cylinder i would appreciate any direction in getting this back to normal

Thanks in advance
glenn

Hi again mates its been along winter of rebuilding the motor & moving my business.
sorry for the long gaps in-between but family and business must go on in order for me to pay for my joys
my last post was close to the end of the rebuild
now i am complete and started it up this last friday, as you might presume i was over joyed when it fired up
after building the oil pressure up and gas getting through all the channels away she went
i ran it at 2K for 20 minutes changed the oil and went for a spin…ye ah
i haven't ran her over 5K yet
many thanks to brothers in Renn, the 3 mandatory books we all have, a DVD and Steve Weiner

i also added 7mm spacers and H&R purple springs to my Bilsteins too

here are a few more pictures and a video when i first started her
