Default 17" Kerscher KRS Speedline fitment advice

Hi,

I am trying to find a good Speedline lookalike for my '92 C2. I have spent hours (maybe days) reading through posts in this forum trying to get to the right answer and would appreciate some advice...

It seems like Kerscher KRS wheels have a good reputation. I would like to have 8Jx17 in front and 9.5Jx17 in rear, running 225/45 and 255/40, respectively.

My concern is the offsets. It seems that 8Jx17 ET 52 front and 9.5Jx17 ET 47 rear are stock/known-good fitments. I have been in touch with Kerscher, and the closest offsets Kerscher offers in the KRS are 8Jx17 ET 48 front 9.5Jx17 ET 48 rear. Is the front ET 48 something to be concerned about or is it likely to work fine with an extra 4mm closer to the fender?

I really appreciate any advice fellow RL'ers can offer.

Many thanks,

What camber on the front & rear will you be running?

What ride height?

What spring rates?

You're WAY overthinking this. You'll be fine with those offsets.

@sml:
Plan is to go Bilstein HD/HR Green and get close to RS height and geometry.

@KaiB
Thanks, the thought had occurred to me but spending thousands of dollars in a foreign country for a product I haven't seen brings out the OCD in me.

You can't get close to RS height with this setup in fact not only can't you drop it that low it would be far too soft and you would bottom out on the slightest bumps.

Thanks for the sanity check, Anthony. RS is probably too low anyways, I was thinking perhaps 35mm from stock US height.

IIRC the threading on the HD's with the shorter H&R springs will only get you roughly 30 mm lower than stock RS height is 50mm lower than US stock height and I would recommend the reds if you plan on dropping it the full 30mm, cornering will be significantly better than the greens and the back end won't squat so badly on hard acceleration. Although I know they changed the springs and I am not familiar with the new color designations.

Unfortunately like everything in life it is a series of compromises. Looks great lowered but has its pitfalls.

This is good information! Agreed on the compromises. Would love to get my 964 lowered, just debating how low to go as roads down here in the grand ol' city of Atlanta leave much to be desired in terms of quality...
