Angry Airbag warning lamp

The central informer on my 1992 C2 just started lighting the airbag warning lamp. The book says it does that just so you can go to the dealer and have it checked. The latest on airbag life is that they still work great after 15 years. Anyone know how to reset this without visiting the dealer? Any advise much appreciated.

It requires someone with a "Hammer" tool to reset the light. Its not a DIY. Sorry.

Yep, you can disconnect the battery until you're blue in the face, it's not going away. Non-volatile memory.

Thumbs up

I also had a problem with my airbag lamp a few months ago. After some searching the Porsche Workshop found out from the Hammer that the resistance in Airbag sensors were to low. They cleaned the contacts and made sure the connectors were really tight. That made it, and they could reset the system with the Hammer. I'm not sure this is your problem but it is an easy and cheap thing to try before you visit the workshop for a reset. The two sensors are located in the front on the inside of the strut towers on each side. They look like small black plastic boxes and you'll see them if you lift up the carpet.
