Mixing it with the Cup Cars
Thought ya'll might get a grin out of one of our antiques mixing it with the big boys.
Little shiny 306rwhp air cooled narrow body going almost as fast as she can. Hope you like it.

Nice driving Kai. Boy does your 964 get through the gears quickly. Hope I can start to get some if my speed back in a couple weekends - I've gotten slower over the last year or so.
Go 964!

Nice work Kai. Great 'edge of the seat' action. Way to make the 964 team proud. Nice balance in those corners, and I liked the slingshot move at ~7'40". What was your best lap time?

Kai has REALLY upped his game this year and taken his driving to another level altogether. Good equipment simply has made his job easier.

The car is an absolute joy to work with as is Steve (and the boys at Rothsport). I've made a few minor changes this year.
As you can see, it is set up a bit loose (!). I've been able to adjust the MCS dampers and their canister pressures (without making any other alterations on the car) to get throttle oversteer when I want it mid corner; this helps me get onto it earlier.
Corner entry is another story. Strong rear brake bias helps get the car rotated. Its a bit scary, but I shut my eyes anyway and it all works out somehow.

We were able to get into the 1:21s this time out.
My previous GT4S lap record there was 1:22.403; I dropped 6 tenths from that somewhere in the video, but missed the GT3S record by two tenths.
We believe no air cooled narrow body car has ever been around that fast.

If you're talking about the speed of the shifts, you really don't want to force your tranny to do it without the tiny 5.5" clutch and flywheel.
If you're addresing the downshifts, blame my Father. He raced SCCA in his TR-4 back when I was 10. I read every book he had on the coffee table and he was kind enough to put up with a curious boy, teach him and nurture his "needs".
He was also wise enough to NEVER let me see him go fast on the street.
I could heel/toe and double clutch at 12. You may note that in the two corners where I have to quickly get down to 2d gear I actually skip third and double clutch into the lower gear. The tranny really likes that as the shift has to happen too quickly for the syncros to spin up otherwise.
