I spend a lot of time on the 993 section and from what I've read it's about $8k+ for a top end rebuild...which is scary...

wrap up to this thread.
engine is back in, experienced some issues with the transmission and fixed.
still have issues with power steering and engine not quite smooth and will not idle on its own.
drives great. feels solid and pulls smoothly from 1,500 rpm to 4,500 rpm. beyond that i'm not sure yet...

Alex - Thanks for following up in the thread. Just sent you a private message asking for details on the parts and suppliers you used for everything. I am just diving in to an engine drop and rebuild.
We probably could start a sticky thread that lists best pricing for all of the seals and components needed for a top end or full rebuild, plus tools as well as reputable places for machine work.
