Project "Green with envy" 964 C4
Hey guys. Long time reader, first time poster.
Just picked up my next project car.
A 1991 (92 reg.) 964 C4 in Oak Green. With green interior. Geez. Yes, green carpets, green leather seats, green dash and green steering wheel.
My very first Porsche, and at the age of 34, about time.
I have previously built some showcars (and winners) in the VW/Audi Scene, but ever since a kid, I've always lusted for a P-car.
My new ride has some issues.
As it stands now, the (common?) PDAS/ABS warning lights and sound chime plagues me, the AC is disconnected due to a leaky AC Condensor, the ride hight is giving me altitude sickness, and there is a rust issue on the wiper panel. Other than that, a lot of minor issues I plan to fix as i go.
Coming from the VW/Audi Scene, I'll probably **** off a lot of Porsche purists and trackday experts, but the plan is to thread carefully, and preserve (and upgrade) the way the 964 should have been. Well, at least in my head.
Currently on order from Germany is the following parts:
H&R Monotube coilovers
New front headlights
New shocks for bonnet and engine lid
Cup Mirrors
993 door handles
White front/side indicators
New wiper arms and blades
Spoiler Curtain
Sunroof gaskets
AC Condensor
Ignition Switch
++
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll have a few more beers. A couple of pix from the first inspection btw. More pix soon!

Welcome - 34 is just about right as the 64 rewards a more seasoned eye
Stealthy color - is interior linen? Would work wonders if so.
Reminds me of this ...

Hey guys. Thanks for the warm welcome!
Today has been rather productive. I've changed the headlight lenses, added white indicators in the front, and did a temporary fix to the rear lights. Since the items are ridicoulously expensive, I tinted the lights with red transparent dupli color, and added orange bulbs in the indicators. The lights will for sure be swapped for new items, but I did a quick fix just to make them look good for now.
As promised. Here are some more photos of the car:
Before: Note the ride hight. OMG!
After:
Yeah, I need to change the fog lights and the plastic bits in between aswell.
New headlight lenses are awesome, though.
Some pics of the green interior:
Errythang is green!
I'm on the fence about buying a new complete black silverknit carpet set from Appbiz or Lakewell. Thing is, the color is kind of growing on me.
Well, I swapped the green stock green steeringwheel for my Momo Team 300 wich previously I had in my daily driver. (Audi URS6 with built motor)
It's now running it's stock steering wheel. Poor thing.
Rear lights before:
Rear lights after a couple of light coats of transparent red:
Anywho, I'll post some pictures of my previous projects for those who are interrested asap.

I *like* the green interior. It has to be uber-rare; change it if you want but keep every single scrap you remove.
Wait until the snow comes; the C4 isn't quite Ur-quattro brilliant, but it's pretty close. I had several Audi 4000* quattros and they were completely unstoppable in the snow [cockpit-lockable center and rear differentials will do that ]
(*An '86 and an '87; I think maybe they were called the 80 in Europe?) Love my C4 in the slippery stuff.
