Default 964 Carrera RS chassi

What suspension are you guys running on your Carrera RS's?
I'm running original but it's time to change.
I use the car mostly on trackdays, but I want to be able to drive to the tracks and also to the ring sometimes (2000km).

Hello blomman,

Nice to see you on here. Love the sternrubin, very cool .

I'm sure you'll get good advice as there are many experts on this board. For mostly track I would look at either Öhlins, MCS/Moton or KWV3s. If you are driving to the ring and back and also on the ring you want some rebound and not go too stiff on the suspension. It sounds like KWV3s could be a good choice.

See you soon, the BBS wheels will suit your car really well.

Hi
I have run KW V3 on my RS for a few years now and i'm very happy with them. At the time i bought them I could not find another suspension package that would allow use of the RS only top monoballs. KW has a kit that is designed for this application.
They work very well on both the road and the track and have the advantage of being very rust resistant.

I prefer the KW Clubsport to the Variant 3 for track use on the RS (but that's probably more an indication of what kind of driver I am rather than the suitability for your preferred use). I suppose the golden rule is that if the journey to and from the track take priority, buy the V3; whereas if the performance on the track is the priority, buy the Clubsport.

How is the kW clubsport compared to RS original?

It seems like the KW clubsport isn't available for the RS.

I think a Rennlist member had KW make V3s with slightly stiffer springs.

When i fitted mine the clubsport version was not being made. I might well have gone for that had if it been available. Looking at KW's website a version for the RS is on their site. The alternative would be to use the regular C2 version and go for KW's own monoballs.
You might also wish to look at the cost of replacing the standard set up . If your shocks are tired , going back to new originals will make a big difference and everyone want originality on RS's these days if you ever come to sell !
