New 964 Owner
...well almost. Have a car at Holt's place in Philly that I'm going to pickup either end of this week or early next. 92 C2 Coupe Midnite Blue over Linen.
Background: My first 911, so I'm stoked. Mostly owned British (even had a Jensen GT) and faux Brit (currently have heavily modded NB Miata) sports cars in the past. Only racing experience is in sprint karts with a smidgen of AX. Will likely not track the 964 but will want to tweak it eventually. Anyway, wanted to introduce myself.
I do have one immediate inquiry. While I like the seats and door cards, the white carpet is a little too much for me. I've seen a few Linen interiors with carpet that matches the grey dash. I like that color combination quite a bit. My question is will I adversely affect the value by replacing the carpets?

Whenever you deviate from stock it affects the value of the car. However, this is 1992 C2 and not one of the specials from Porsche. As far as customizations go its a mild change that is easily reversible. All you need to do is carefully store the original carpet set and offer it to the new owner if you offer it up for sale.

Welcome to Rennlist! The paint looks great! Keep us updated on your mods as we all love to see the (slippery slope) progression of these cars.
Good advice, Recardo.

I hear ya regarding the slippery slope. My NB has mods that are roughly 2x the car's purchase price...hopefully I won't get that crazy with the 964.

Hi Jaye,
I have the same colour combo (inside and out) and have put some black porsche mats over the top of the white ones to keep them clean, looks fine IMO.
Yours is significantly cleaner than mine, you've inspired me to get it valeted, I can see that yours has just been done!
Good luck with the collection
cheers

Congrats. I have looked at that car on Holt's website about 25 times. Absolutely love that color, my dad owned a midnight blue 930 turbo when I was very young.

That's a stunning looking combo !! Welcome to rennlist, can't wait to see a few more pictures of this beauty. I would get some black floor mats and just try to be careful. For more information on Floor Mats Click Here.

Thanks for the help guys. I post quite a bit on miata.net. We were laughing that many of us were moving up to various P-cars. As a Miata enthusiast, I'm used to excessive mods (I've installed two separate superchargers on my NB, Wilwood big brakes, blah, blah...) but I can tell that the pace of mods on a 911 will be much slower.
For instance, I was watching a Drive episode on a 3.2 liter car built by bbi. They had installed a set of these really trick, old school HRE 935 wheels. I started thinking that a pair of white 18's would look great on my blue coupe with some quick mental arithmetic I arrived at an estimated price of around 800 bucks a wheel. WRONG. More like 1800 bucks so instead of a 4x multiplier it was a full order of magnitude vice what a good set of racing wheels would cost for my NB. HRE may be an extreme example but holy smokes.

Car from Holt look so impressive! I love your varied car background.
I second your insight in regards to modding this car, it doesn't need much (compared to other cars)...911s are just so right.
