Default E88 BBS Motorsport wheels

How hard is it to get my hands on a set for my 964?

17's are hard to find

Any suggestions?

E88 (aluminium centers and new design) are only made in 18 or bigger. You can find a new set "everywhere", call a BBS dealer. BBS E28 (mag centres and the older more chunky design) are only on the second hand market these days and are more or less hopeless to find.

I read on the BBS website that E28s were not meant for driving on the road, only racing?

I see they still have e28s on their site, but likely not in Porsche fitment?

Magnesium wheels are more fragile (cracking) than others including the now only produced aluminium centre BBSs.

Also the lips are more prone to bending.

However mixed feedback here. Some run them on the road with out issue whilst others have had them bend or stress fracture.

I would apply common sense - avoid potholes, countries with bad roads.

What Thomas was saying is the older Magnesium 'chunky' spoke versions are no longer produced.

E28 Aluminium should be available in Porsche fitment.

Ah thank you Frank, appreciate the insight!

Really would love to get a set of the E28s on my car one day and like you said, just have to be wary of potholes!
