Default 1990 C2 w/ KW V3 and gold rims

Hi all,

I finally got my gold rims fitted and the car properly washed. I already had a KW Variant 3 fitted, so it was time for a small photoshoot

Rims are 8x18 et 42 and 10x18 et 47. Front needs to be lifted about 5 mm to avoid rubbing on the inner fender in fast corners.

I hope you will enjoy!

Nope. I don't actually know the brand ( Design911 call them 'Style500' ) they are sold by Design 911, AP Car design and a UK eBay vendor. They're available in three finishes, gold, black, silver.

Clinchy has a set - currently in silver.
MFRSR has a set in black.

You are exactly right. Not a very expensive set of rims, but I like the look. BBS ET88 would be my dream, but for now I will "just" enjoy the car as it is :-)

Great setup. I need some KW's in my life. The faces and step lip makes it look like Work Brombachers, the only real difference is the enges of the face where the 'bolts' go. Are they a true three piece wheel?

Also, what tire size are you running in the rear? Arches rolled?

Unfortunately they are not 3-piece wheels, which probably would have put them in a different price category :-(

I'm running Continental Sport Contact 2 with 265/35-18 rear and 215/40-18 front. No modification has been done to the arches at all. Although I will need to raise the front end a little bit to avoid rubbing.

Three piece wheels aren't great.

They can have many issues, are expensive to refurbish, can leak...

1 piece are a more intelligent purchase.

I love those wheels, would love a set.

The rubbing on the front seems to be a common problem - iirc Clinchy has the issue also.

Are they available in different sizes?

I wonder what J and ET Mfrsr is running...?

I'm glad to hear so. I chose the rims for the looks, but surely it is nice if the also are more durable.

I don't think they come in different sizes. I specifically went for the 215/40-18 front tires although most people use 225/40-18 on 8J rims. I thought this was enough, but there is still very minor rubbing on the front left. I'm sure that when I raise the front suspension about 5 mm the issue will be gone, and I am still statisfied with the stance eventhough it is raised by 5 mm.

Nice setup! Did you have to dail in a bit more camber in the rear?

They look really good. I've been considering a set of these from ebay for about a year and nice to see them fitted on black too. Cant stretch to BBS so these look a great alternate option. They are on at £799 too (ebay). Nice to see how well they look
