Default Wing/fender sealing

Hi guys,

What's the consensous on the prefered method of refitting front wings/fenders on the 964?

When I removed my wings, neither had the porsche sealing strip (000.043. 129.00) (both wings had been removed before at some point) and instead a sticky putty like substance had been used?

Ideally I want to be able to remove the wings every other year so that I can check for corrosion. I've heard that the porsche sealing strip is pretty hard to get off once on so I want to avoid paint damage.

So what have people here done or used?

Thanks

Rob

Rob,
I'm in the same boat as you. My front fenders are off for a re-spray and some rust repair. I hope some body guys will chime in here. Mine did have the factory sealing strip which was easy to remove. The hard part was cutting the rust proofing in the wheel arch so the fender would come off.
