I was wondering when someone would get around to this. A bit too late for me but I'd do it in a heartbeat next time around. With all the $$$ into ISVs and chips and adaptations it would be a way cheaper solution...

So is the added weight to compensate for the stalling issue only, or is there another bennie?

More consistent idle and eliminates the stalling and hunting.

Phil
I actually got the math, but was curious about how the weight was added. Sounds like a proven method...

Exactly!!

Further, its FAR more durable than the OEM Dual-Mass one which is prone to premature failures.

Its VERY well proven.

We've designed a ring of steel that fits neatly into the recess on the engine side of the RS flywheel.

I need to do the clutch in mine. I'd be interested depending on price. At my current 500 miles a year I could probably milk my clutch a couple more years but got to do it sometime.

Steve,

Interesting, ultimately is it one piece or possibly retrofitable to existing LWFW?

Its possible to retrofit, however the flywheel needs some precision machined and tapped holes and we use the CNC to do this.

I'm not sure that I'll offer that separately.

Will this kit have the same clanging noise as the RS clutch?

If you are referring to the rattling sound at idle, yes. That comes from the transmission, not the flywheel or clutch (unless there is something else wrong). I've written about this in detail in the similar thread on the 993 Forum.

The only clutches that clang or rattle at idle are the multi-plate racing clutches such as Tilton, Quartermaster and AP. These are very poor choices for any kind of street use so I simply don't mention such things in the context of road use.
