Hi guys, just tried the car this week, and it definetelly is Very diferent from any car I ever had.

What amazed me the most was the noise of the wind with the top on, above 100km/h i couldnt hear the passanger.... I heard less wind noise with the top off, which was strange and a turn down for me....

Ill check in a Porsche dealer if Thats the "normal" targa noise or of it could be improved, because i think i couldnt live with this kind of noise...

A long ride could be Very hard for my hears....

Any targa owners would like to coment of its the same with theirs cars?

Thanks

i wouldnt think twice about going on a long journey. Seems you need it fixing.

Thanks for the info Turbo Jonny. The car is in a Porsche dealer for a kind of PPI. I'll have some feedback by early next week.

Thanks

I don't have much wind noise in my targa with top on. Had a small bit of wind noise when I 1st bought it 12 years ago. I did a top adjustment and now it is perfect. My targa is in near perfect shape. Its for sale too if your interrested. Will be taking it out of storage at months end.

Cheers
Walton

I'm not so sure about maintenance costs being low.

I've spent a fortune getting my car up to speed.

I don't mind spending as I love the car/s and its in my blood, I'm never done tinkering.

Good luck and envoy one of the best cars on the road, everyone should own a Porsche.

i'm new in the forum but I have a 964 C4 Targa 92, spanish one with around 210.000km . I'm located in Paris (Wind and rain is the stardard...). No issues with the wind if roof has a fine adjustment (even when you drive over 140km/h). The only noise are some "cricks, cracks" when you drive on the pavé parissien (cobblestone or irregular road).

Some point to take in consideration:
- better if is 92 or 93 (some changes has been done and usually they don't leak oil, and airbag is included )
- Historical data of maintenance (VIP if you want to sale afterwards)
- C4 is a must (for me). in Paris we have snow some weeks per year, and rain the rest
- Lether of seats
- ignition delco. you must change the internal belt each 80000km and not all owners knows.

Cost of maintenance depends on number of km you are going to do, but you can take around 3.000 euros/year if you do around 10000km/year.

I hope I help you

Marquo,
I'm in Pairs right now...were you driving your car on Thursday night? Near Beaumarchais @ 8 pm. My first 964 sighting on this trip. I usually see a couple every trip...always makes me happy, since I miss mine while I'm away.

it wasn't mine, I use it more during weekend. but it's true that Paris is full of them. As you know all is old here, and people loves to use old cars too....
