This is the link I posted a few days ago in Great Eurpean 964's for sale.

I am sure it's the car I've seen at Essen.

I hear you. You are not the only one. I need to figure something different. Do you think I should just put Carrera 4 back on there? It didn't wear a badge for the longest time, but people kept asking if it was a turbo...

Shortly, when I get around to it, I will source another "Carrera 4" badge for the car. After all, its one of just 256 M096 cars sold in America and they were all badged Carrera 4. It should just rock it proudly.

Oh, and I put 285/30/18s in the back. (225/40/18 in the front.). If you are running 265/35/18s in the back now, you may also consider going wider.
So far as the engine is concerned, these cars have obviously gone up in value quite a bit recently and keeping the car as close to original specs may ultimately translate to greater value should it ever come time to sell the car. But if that is not as important to you, while the motor is out of the car and being rebuilt anyway... You can obviously go bigger pistons, change the heads (9M), install hotter cams, knife the crank, do software (Steve Wong), backdate exhaust or primary muffler delete, motec engine management... The world is your oyster. As for mine, it's basically stock with software, a primary muffler bypass and an RS clutch and flywheel. With only 30k miles on the odometer, I can't justify hopping it up at this time but if I had to go into the engine for any reason... I would definitely not put it back together stock.
Again, great build and I know that you are having fun.

Last of the classic shape air-cooled cars - to be cherished IMHO.
