To my knowledge the genuine 964RS has never been street legal in the US (due to pedestrian protection issues, I guess).
Will this legal situation be maintained or is there something like an option to import and legalize the RS e.g. if the cars reach a certain age?

Thanks

Stefan
I've seen precisely one
I believe that Steve Patee(sp?) imported and legalized this one

There used to be many 964Cup cars around here but most seem to have migrated back across the pond

I guess I will keep mine

Stefan
Once they can be imported into the US demand will increase and because the supply side will remain the same prices should increase to compensate.

Steve Patti's yellow 964RS was never federalized. I raced with him several times. The car never had air bags, etc. He actually put on racing headers, etc. It was sold a couple of months ago to a collector out West.

The 964 RS did not make it to the showroom floor. Sold.
The 993 RS is going to sell before it hits the showroom floor.
Dammit. Alex was going to let me take the 964 RS for a drive.

It was a beauty. I saw, drove, and considered buying it.

The car was a "basic"/M002 spec car that a previous owner had made several changes to. Cloth CS buckets in place of the "tri-tone" leather, bolt in cage, cup steering wheel and 8" front/9.5" rear Cup I wheels versus the 7.5" and 9" magnesium Cup Is the car would have come with.

I spent about 2 hours going over the car including a 30 minute test drive (in Friday afternoon traffic!). What a truly AWESOME car.
